Dear Travel Advisor,

I want to personally thank you for dedication and support of Holland America Line during these unprecedented times.

Please be assured that Holland America Line takes the health and safety of our guests and crew very seriously. To protect the health and safety of all on board, we are closely monitoring the evolving situation. Holland America Line has deep partnerships with the global health experts from the World Health Organization and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and together, we have developed enhanced screening, prevention and control procedures for our ships to keep guests and crew safe. You can learn more about our enhanced pre-boarding and on board health protocols, along with other important information here.

For existing bookings: In support of all your hard work, Holland America Line has revised our Short-Term Cancel Policy. We will protect 100% of your commission* (base and override) if your clients cancel their booking. This is applicable to new and existing paid in full bookings cancelled within final payment and sailing March 6, 2020 through July 31, 2020. Under this policy, your clients may cancel up to 48 hours prior to sailing and will receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) for the amount of their paid fare, less the cost of Cancelation Protection Plans (Standard or Platinum). The FCC must be applied to a future booking by December 31, 2020 on any sailing departing by December 31, 2021. FCCs are nonrefundable, non-transferrable and do not have to be used on the same destination that was cancelled. You will not need to fill out a form or call Holland America Line, the FCC will automatically be applied to your clients’ Mariner ID upon their cancellation. In addition, we will pay full commission on the FCC when it is used in the future.

For your clients who choose to keep their booking as currently scheduled for departures between now and July 31, 2020 they will receive the following Onboard Spending Money amounts:

  • $100 per stateroom ($50 per person) for 6-day cruises (or fewer)
  • $200 per stateroom ($100 per person) for 7-day and longer cruises

This Onboard Spending Money will automatically apply to your client's booking. There is no need to call us or apply this yourself.

For new bookings: If your clients are looking to book a new cruise vacation August 1 through October 15, 2020, we have our Book With Confidence Guarantee. Your clients may cancel up to 30 days prior to sailing and receive an FCC for the amount of their paid fare, less the cost of Cancellation Protection Plans (Standard or Platinum), that can be used for a cruise in 2020 or 2021. This offer is for new bookings only, made March 6 through April 30, 2020. Please note your client must complete and submit the “Book with Confidence form” located here, for the FCC to be applied.

And as a thank you for your support during this challenging time, on new bookings made between March 1 and April 30, 2020, you can earn an additional 4 percent bonus commission. This offer is applicable to all of our 2020 sailings.

We also know that you may have clients with specific individual health situations that impact their ability to safely travel during these times. For those guests who are able to provide supporting documents from their health care provider, Holland America Line will issue them a Future Cruise Credit. For information on submitting a request with documentation under this “Compassion Policy,” please contact our Reservations Department. This offer is available for guests booked on any sailing, regardless of departure date.
