Vaccine Requirements for Cruising
|
In accordance with CDC guidelines, our 2021 cruises are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the cruise. Requirements for 2022 itineraries will be announced as available, in accordance with CDC guidelines and updated travel protocols provided by governments, ports and public health authorities.
We understand that the guidelines for what is considered fully vaccinated may be confusing for you and your clients, and wanted to share the latest information so that you are able to answer any questions. We are also updating this on hollandamerica.com and encourage you to visit our site frequently for updates as policies, protocols and health and safety guidelines are subject to change.
Here is an update on accepted vaccines:
|
- To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have received the full series of a United States FDA or World Health Organization authorized COVID-19 vaccine or a combination of authorized vaccines, and have received your last dose at least 14 days prior to the day of embarkation.
- For cruises departing from the United States, the CDC requires both vaccines in a 2-dose series to be of the same type. They also accept mixing mRNA vaccines only (each dose is from either Pfizer and Moderna.) No other combinations are considered fully vaccinated.
- For cruises departing outside of the United States, you may be regarded as fully vaccinated if you have received your first dose of AstraZeneca followed by a single dose of mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) to complete the 2-dose series.

Additionally, we recommend you visit the official visitor websites for the countries your clients will sail from or to. Many countries have specific entry requirements that may include pre-arrival PCR testing and uploading of personal information prior to arrival. Airline carrier websites also provide valuable information related to client travel requirements.
For you and your clients who live outside the U.S., and require a PCR test prior to returning to your country of origin after sailing with us, we will be offering this test on board free of charge prior to debarkation.
Acceptable proofs of full vaccination include: COVID-19 vaccination card; digital COVID-19 certificate (QR code acceptable); or record of COVID-19 vaccination from a healthcare provider including original digital email notification, personal electronic health record, or government Immunization information system (IIS) record.
Our highest priorities are compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of you and your clients, our team members on board our ships and the communities we visit. We hope this helps clarify any questions.
